Description
Nos. 65 and 67 on The Crescent are a pair of semi-detached houses built in 1908 by Percy Houfton for the Brodsworth Colliery Company. Constructed from roughcast brick with a later cement-tile roof, these two-storey homes feature a symmetrical design with a window arrangement of 1:2:1 on the first floor. The wooden casements throughout have glazing bars.
No. 67, located on the left, has a boarded door with three-light windows to the left and a combination of one-light and three-light windows to the right, both with tile dripmoulds. No. 65 mirrors this design but is handed. The first floor of No. 65 has three-light windows, with the central pair beneath a tile dripcourse and gable. The eaves are swept, and there is a corniced end stack on the left that is corbelled from the gable, along with a rebuilt central ridge stack and a truncated end stack on the right.
At the rear, there are round-headed doorways with flanking four-pane casements, all embraced by tile hoodmoulds, and a circular casement on the first floor. This pair of houses is part of the Woodlands Colliery village.
