Description

Nos. 5 and 6 The Park are a pair of semi-detached houses built in 1907-1908 by Percy Houfton for the Brodsworth Colliery Company. They feature roughcast walls and a later cement-tile roof, standing two storeys high with a symmetrical arrangement of windows: two sets of two windows on the first floor. The wooden casements have glazing bars throughout. No. 5, on the left, has a door beneath a bracketed canopy, flanked by three-light windows that sit under tile dripmoulds. The first floor has similar windows with a tile dripcourse beneath a gable. No. 6 mirrors this design but includes a later porch addition. Both houses have swept eaves, roughcast end stacks that are corbelled from the gables, and a central ridge stack. These houses are part of the first phase of the Woodlands colliery village.
