Description

The remains of a stone coffin, likely from the late medieval period, are located approximately 3 metres south of the porch of the Church of St. Nicholas in Thorne, on the east side of Stonegate. This coffin, made of magnesian limestone, is tapered for an adult and has been hollowed out for the head and body, although much of its sides are now broken away.
