Description

Adwick Bridge is a bridge built around 1800, constructed from deeply-coursed, dressed sandstone. It features two segmental arches that spring from central and side piers, which project forward. The midstream pier has angled cutwaters, and the angled wing walls are complemented by matching end piers. A continuous band rises to the center of the bridge, as do the copings of the parapet. The bridge spans the River Dearne and is partly located in the parish of Dearne.
