Description

No. 15 St Sampson's Square is a house with a shop, built between 1835 and 1840, featuring a 20th-century shopfront. The building is constructed of painted brick and has a moulded timber eaves cornice, topped with a slate roof and a brick stack. The exterior consists of a four-storey, two-window front. The first-floor windows have been replaced, while the second-floor windows are squat 12-pane sashes, and the third-floor windows are unequal 9-pane sashes. All windows have sills and cambered brick arches. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value as an important part of this early 19th-century square in York.
