Description
The garden wall and gates located approximately 25 metres southeast of the John Burrill Homes were built between 1925 and 1931 by the architectural firm Ward and Leckenby. This structure forms the southeastern boundary of the garden and features walls and gate piers made of red brick laid in English bond, topped with moulded stone coping and cornices on the piers. The walls range in height from about 0.75 metres to 1.50 metres, while the square gate piers stand approximately 2.50 metres tall. The railings and gate are crafted from cast and wrought iron, with square-section bars that have twisted finials and panels of openwork scrolls ending in spiral finials. The gate's overthrow is adorned with leaf fronds and trails, incorporating the initial 'B'. This structure is included for its group value as an integral part of The John Burrill Homes.
