Description

Ellison Terrace comprises a row of three early 19th-century houses, restored in the 20th century. The terrace is constructed of brick with a slate roof. Number 4 has three bays, while numbers 2 and 6 each have one bay. The windows have flat brick arches above and contain 20th-century replacement glazing bar sash windows, fitted with louvred shutters on the ground floor. Doorways are present in the central bay of number 4, to the right of number 2, and to the left of number 6. Each doorway has a doorcase featuring fluted pilasters and a frieze with corner bosses, a semicircular overlight, and a door of six raised and fielded panels. Front ridge chimneys are present on either side of number 4. The interiors were not inspected. The terrace’s group value is enhanced by its contribution to the surrounding streetscape.
