Description

This is a house, dating from around 1825. It is constructed of painted brick, with a slate roof that is hipped on the right-hand side. The north facade has three storeys and a cellar. The windows are glazing bar sashes; the ground-floor window is tripartite and bowed, set within a projecting panel of brickwork that has a simple entablature. The first floor has a single window, and the second floor has two windows. Shared brick chimneys are located to the left, in front of, and behind the ridge.

The west-facing return wall, overlooking New Walk and the River Ouse, is three storeys high above a basement storey, which is accessed from a lower ground level. This wall has three bays. The windows are glazing bar sashes, except for the central ground-floor window, which is a fixed light with glazing bars and a segmental head with radial glazing. The first-floor window has an elliptical head. To the left of the right-hand basement window is a 20th-century casement. The central bay of the basement contains a door with six raised and fielded panels, set within a doorcase that has fluted pilasters and a cornice on console brackets. The interior has not been inspected.
