Description
Nos. 3 and 4 Bridge Street are two shops that have been combined into one, built around 1830 with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building features painted brick in Flemish bond and has a paired modillion timber eaves band. It has parallel hipped roofs covered with slate and scrolled corner brackets.
The exterior is three stories high with a two-window front. The shopfronts have paired pilasters and a cornice. On the first floor, there is an unequal 9-pane sash window on the left and an enlarged opening with a replacement sash on the right. The second floor has two 12-pane sash windows. All windows are fitted with painted stone sills and cambered brick arches, although the arches on the second floor are partly obscured by the eaves band. To the right, there are cast-iron rainwater goods featuring an inverted fluted bell hopper and fleur-de-lys clamps. The interior has not been inspected.
