Description
The building is a former stable and granary, now a cottage, located approximately 10 metres south-east of the Old Rectory. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and has undergone alterations around 1970-1980. The structure is made of brown brick with ashlar dressings and features a pantile roof.
The north front, which faces the courtyard, is a single storey with a granary loft and has two windows. It includes a central round-headed entrance with chamfered ashlar quoins and a keystone, leading to a recessed six-panel door. This entrance is flanked by 20th-century casement windows beneath segmental arches with raised keystones. The eaves are corbelled brick, and there is a blocked attic hatch on the right gable end.
On the south side, facing the street, there is a board door to the right and an unsympathetic 20th-century window to the left, both situated beneath inappropriate 20th-century soldier arches. The adjoining range to the east is not included in the listing, but the building is noted for its group value.
