Description
No. 8 Bigby Street is a late 18th-century building featuring a steep pantile roof with stone-coped gable ends and kneelers. It stands two storeys tall and has two dormers. The red brick gable end facing the road includes a lunette with five lights set in a stone surround, positioned above two windows with lintels and modern casements, which are situated above a late 19th-century shop front. The side elevation has two hung sash windows, most of which have glazing bars and lintels, along with one blocked window. The entrance features a moulded wood doorcase with a four-panel door, two of which are glazed, and a rectangular fanlight with four lights. The building also has a brick dentil eaves cornice. No. 8 is part of a group that includes Nos 8, 11, The Exchange Club, 12, and 14.
