Description
Horkstow Grange Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed of brick and colourwashed, with a pantile roof. The building has a T-shaped layout, featuring a central entrance hall with two rooms and a kitchen extension at the rear. It stands two storeys high and has three symmetrical bays. A flight of three stone steps leads to the doorcase, which is adorned with reeded pilasters and fluted brackets that support a cornice and hood. The entrance features a 19th-century part-glazed panelled door with a three-pane overlight set in a beaded-panel reveal. To the right, there is a blocked cellar opening. The ground floor has 12-pane flush sash windows, while the first floor has unequal sashes. The eaves are stepped, and there are end stacks. Inside, there is an open well staircase at the rear with slender column balusters and newels, along with moulded plaster cornices in the entrance hall and main rooms. The windows have beaded-panel shutters, and there are six-panel doors set within architraves.
