Description
The Old Vicarage is a vicarage that has been converted into a house, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, though it has earlier origins. The building features a brick front, gables, stacks, and a rear wing, while the rest is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings. It has a concrete tile roof and is T-shaped in plan, with a central entrance hall, a rear wing, and outshuts at the angles. The structure is two storeys high with an attic and consists of three symmetrical bays. The entrance has a plain door with an overlight set beneath a flat brick arch. There is a wide 19th-century double casement window with twelve panes in flush wood frames, located under low cambered brick arches. The gables are brick coped and tumbled, and there are end stacks. Inside, there is a three-flight open well staircase featuring a moulded handrail and column-on-vase balusters with square knops. The building is included for its group value.
