Description
The Cholera Memorial in the General Cemetery in Kingston upon Hull is an obelisk dating from around 1850. It is made of ashlar and features a tall square obelisk that stands on a square base. The base has panels on each face, which once held commemorative plaques that have since been removed. The base is adorned with a moulded top and bottom and is elevated on two steps. This monument was erected to honor those who lost their lives during the cholera epidemic of 1848-49.
