Description

Lister Court is a warehouse, later converted into flats, built around 1880 and renovated again around 1985. It is constructed of brick with slate roofs, and stands four storeys high plus attics, with a nine-by-twelve window facade. The building has an L-shaped layout. The windows have 20th-century glazing set within segmental arches. The third-floor windows are smaller than those below.

The quayside front features three windows on each floor centered within the facade, and a derrick crane is mounted on brackets. Flanking this central section are full-height recesses rising into gabled dormers. Each floor of these recesses has a reglazed loft door, and the ground-floor openings are blocked. The dormers have a roundel in their gable peaks. Further to either side are two windows per floor, with the first-floor window on the right blocked.

The left return has a central full-height recess with loft doors on each floor, and a crane on the third floor, flanked by four openings on the upper floors. To the right is a gable featuring three windows on each floor and a graduated triple window at the gable peak. This building demonstrates group value as an example of late 19th century warehouse architecture in Kingston upon Hull.
