Description
This building, formerly known as the Keeper's Cottage to Bessingby Hall, is a single-storey structure with origins dating back to the early 17th century, though it has undergone later restoration and alterations. It is constructed of brick and features a pantile roof, which includes two gabled dormers and two brick chimneys. The building has stone quoins and window frames, with two four-light windows that have stone mullions. A small porch with a pediment and a flat arch entrance is present, featuring moulded stone imposts and a keystone inscribed with "H H" and the year 1805. The side of the building has some stonework, with brick tumbling at the gable end. There is a late 19th-century extension to the right that includes two additional windows. This property is part of a group that includes Bessingby Hall, Hall Farmhouse, and a pigeoncote, along with the lodge to Bessingby Hall.
