Description

Bessingby Hall is a house dating to 1807, designed by Thomas Cundy. The house is constructed of yellow brick and is two storeys high. It has a hipped roof with a moulded parapet and cornice. The fenestration consists of five windows, which are replaced hung sashes with glazing bars. There are four windows to the ground floor. The central portion of the building is slightly recessed and contains an entrance approached by a semi-circular flight of steps. A semi-circular Grecian portico with a stone balustrade above forms a balcony to the first-floor window, which is comprised of three lights. Narrow flanking lights and a narrow fanlight feature above the doorway. Bessingby Hall, together with Hall Farmhouse and a pigeoncote, form a group, as does the lodge to Bessingby Hall.
