Description
Seaton House is an early 19th-century house constructed of light grey brick with stone dressings and a graduated slate roof. The main block features a central entrance with recessed wings on either side. The main block is two storeys high and has three bays, while the wings are also two storeys but consist of one bay each.
The entrance is highlighted by a Roman Doric porch that includes a full entablature with a triglyph frieze. It has a six-panel door beneath a fanlight that features radial glazing bars, all set within a pilastered opening with panelled reveals and soffit. On either side of the door, there are 16-pane sash windows. The first floor also has 16-pane sashes on the sides and a 12-pane sash window above the door. The wings have similar, smaller 16-pane sashes.
All window openings are detailed with sills and cambered, channelled, wedge lintels topped with a projecting key block that bears a feather motif. The main block and the wings both have hipped roofs, and there are end stacks on the main block.
