Description

The Rectory is a house dating from 1767. It is constructed of brown brick with a timber eaves cornice and a pantiled roof. The building follows a direct-entry plan with three rear wings extending from the main body, each with its own roof. The main facade is two storeys high with an attic, and is six bays wide in the proportions of 3:1:2. The ground floor features a doorway with glazing bars, set within an architrave with a projecting cornice supported by shaped brackets; an insurance plaque is set into the frieze above. The remaining bays on the ground floor contain 15-pane sashes within architraves, with sills set beneath flat, gauged brick arches. The first floor has matching sashes with glazing bars and architraves, also with sills and flat gauged brick arches. A modillion eaves cornice runs along the top of the facade. There are three gabled dormers in the roof, and axial stacks. The rear wings are characterised by tumbled-in brick to the raised gables. The interior has not been inspected.
