Description
The Manor House, formerly known as Manor Farmhouse, is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of brick in an irregular English garden wall bond, featuring a timber eaves cornice and tiled roofs. The building has an L-shaped plan and consists of two storeys with five bays arranged in a 2:1:2 configuration. The rear wing includes a central two-storey porch with a side entry.
The central door, which has four panels, is flanked on both sides by two cross-mullion windows with sills under flat gauged brick arches. There is a first-floor band, and above the door, a limestone sundial, minus its gnomon, is situated beneath a blank opening, also flanked by two cross-mullion windows with sills under flat gauged brick arches. The house features bracketed eaves, raised coped gables, and end stacks.
Inside, there is a fine closed string staircase with vase balusters and a heavy moulded handrail. Several early 18th-century bolection-moulded doors remain in the principal rooms.
