Description

Catfoss Hall is a house built in the late 18th century, with a late 19th-century extension added to the left that matches the original style. The building is constructed of brown brick in Flemish bond and features a timber eaves cornice and a graduated slate roof. It has two storeys and three bays in the main block, and the extension also has two storeys and three bays. The original building has a balanced elevation, with the central bay projecting slightly forward.

To the right of the central bay is a 19th-century four-panel door beneath an oblong fanlight with glazing bars. To the left is a 16-pane sash window, both of which are set under segmental gauged brick arches. The left and right wings each contain two sash windows, all with glazing bars and also under segmental gauged brick arches. There is a line of squared stone blocks with central drillings at the first-floor level.

On the first floor, the windows are more varied, featuring scattered fenestration with nine-pane unequal sashes, a 16-pane sash on the extreme left, and two six-pane sashes between the bays. The 19th-century extension to the left has 16-pane sashes under segmental gauged-brick arches. The building is topped with a dentilled eaves cornice and has axial and rear wall stacks, along with a hipped roof.
