SEATON CATFOSS Catfoss Hall

II

House. Late C18 with late C19 extension in same character to left. Brown brick in Flemish bond, timber eaves cornice, graduated slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays to main block, 2 storeys and 3 bays to extension. Balanced elevation to original building. Centre bay breaks forward: C19 4-panel door to right under oblong fanlight with glazing bars. 16-pane sash to left, both under segmental gauged brick arches. Left and right wings: 2 sashes each, all with glazing bars under segmental gauged brick arches. Line of squared stone blocks with central drillings at first floor level. First floor: scattered fenestration of 9-pane unequal sashes with 16-pane sash to extreme left and two 6-pane sashes between bays. C19 extension to left has 16-pane sashes, under segmental gauged-brick arches. Dentilled eaves cornice, axial and rear wall stacks, hipped roof.
