Description

This pair of buildings at 119 and 121 Lairgate, Beverley, dates from the 18th century and is constructed of rendered and brick. They are two storeys and have an attic. The gable end displays tumbled brickwork. Originally, there were three windows; one retains a sash window with glazing bars. A modern door is recessed within the older opening at No. 119. No. 121 features a 19th-century shop front, characterized by plain pilasters. This shop front has been altered to incorporate a late 19th-century window and door. Inside No. 119 is a staircase ascending through all three storeys, with a closed string, plain newels, a simply moulded handrail, and turned balusters.
