Description
Nos 21 and 22 on Saturday Market are mid-18th century buildings that have undergone some alterations. They are two storeys high with attics, constructed of painted brick and topped with a steep slate roof featuring two pedimented dormers. The buildings have two windows on the upper floor; one is a hung sash with glazing bars, while the other is a reglazed casement. The first floor also features two canted bays made of wood, which are adorned with pilasters and lack glazing bars. A bracketed eaves cornice follows the line of the bay windows. The ground floor consists of shop fronts. Inside No 21, there is a staircase with a closed string, plain newels, and a handrail, but it does not have balusters.
