Description
Newland Gate is a house built in the mid-18th century, with a later cross wing added. It features whitewashed brick and a pantile roof. The central entrance leads to a small staircase lobby, with the cross wing located at the rear. The building stands two storeys high and has two first-floor windows. The entrance includes a 20th-century half-glazed door with a divided overlight, flanked by 16-pane sash windows set beneath segmental arches. On the first floor, there are two-light Yorkshire sash windows. The gable ends are raised, and there are stacks at each end. Inside, the sitting room showcases a massive chamfered cross beam and hand-cut joists. The doors are six-fielded-panel style, with many featuring H-L hinges.
