Description

The Old Joiners' Shop and adjoining barn are probably of mid-18th century origin, with later additions and alterations. The house is constructed of pinkish-brown brick with coursed pebble and brick detailing, while the barn has a pantile roof. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. The original front entrance has been moved to the rear and replaced with a 20th-century panelled door; a three-light casement window now occupies the centre, with similar windows under cambered heads throughout the house. A three-course first-floor band runs around the building. The roof is swept and features brick copings and end stacks. The barn, of single storey, is situated to the left and slightly forward of the house, and is adjoined by a later infill section. It has two blocked cart entrances, one with an elliptical arch. The barn also has brick copings, a swept roof, and an end stack. A 20th-century bow window has been inserted into the right-hand gable of the barn.
