Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century, with a late 17th to early 18th century extension on the left side and later additions and refronting. The initials "C H" are found on the gable-end tie beams, probably indicating Christopher Hildyard. The building is constructed of stuccoed and colour-washed brick, topped with an asphalted slate roof.
It features a 2-storey, 2-bay range on the left and a 2-storey, 2-bay range on the right that is slightly longer. The entrance is off-centre, consisting of a part-glazed, 4-panel door with an overlight, set under a wedge lintel. The left range has 8 long-pane sash windows, also under wedge lintels, while the right range contains 3- and 4-light casement windows with wooden mullions, with the ground floor windows set under wedge lintels. The right side has stepped eaves, and there are brick ridge and end stacks.
Inside, the staircase features shaped-rod-on-vase balusters with square knops, two per tread. There is a 6-fielded-panel door leading to the attic, and some ceilings have chamfered beams. Additionally, there are some plank doors throughout the interior.
