Description
Brandesburton School is a building constructed in 1843 for the Lord Mayor and Aldermen of London. It is made of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring white painted stone dressings and a slate roof. The school is a single storey with six bays and has a symmetrical facade. The second and fifth bays are polygonal and include square-headed mullioned windows, topped with a coped parapet that has a pediment, shaped kneelers, stone coping, and ball finials. There are narrow oblong openings at the centers of the gables. The other bays contain 2-light square-headed windows with horizontal glazing bars. An inscription in the center commemorates the foundation of the school, and the gables are coped.
