Description

Hall Farmhouse is a brick farmhouse with stone dressings and slate roofs, dating from the 18th century. A datestone on the left return reads "WCE/1743". The main part of the house is three storeys high and three bays wide, with a two-storey, two-bay extension added later to the right. Features include stone-coped gables with kneelers and quoins. The brickwork is divided by two bands, the lower one raised above the ground-floor window lintels. The windows have gauged-brick arches; the window to the third bay on the ground floor has a stone lintel, while the windows in the end bays have straight heads. The windows themselves are a mix of sash windows, imitation sash windows, a tripartite window in the second bay, and two-light casements in the remaining ground-floor bays, with a sashed window to the first bay of the ground floor. The entrances have plain lintels and modern doors. A small, cross-axial brick stack is present. The rear of the farmhouse features a gabled wing, and a ledge to the gable potentially indicates a former pigeon loft.
