Description
The tower of the former Church of St. Bartholomew, built in 1824, is located approximately 30 metres to the south-west of the present church in Thurstaston, Wirral. This rectangular tower has three stages and features two decorative bands. It is topped with an embattled parapet. On the west side, there is a small window, while the east side shows rubble walling that marks the location of the former nave. An inserted plaque on this wall is inscribed with the names of church wardens and the date. The tower includes round-headed bell openings that have plain archivolts and are louvred.
