Description

The sea wall to the Esplanade in Rock Ferry was built around 1830-1835. It is made of coursed and squared rubble and stands approximately 8 feet high with a slightly battered profile. The wall was constructed in two phases, reflecting the boundary of Rock Park. The section of the wall adjacent to the park has a concave profile, while the southern section features a simple raking profile. This structure was built by the Royal Rock Ferry Company as part of a project to enhance ferry facilities at Rock Ferry.
