Description
Scythe Stone Delph Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from 1682, as indicated by a date stone located to the left of the first-floor window in the first bay. The building is constructed of stone and topped with a slate roof. It stands two storeys tall and features three bays, with a central porch bay that projects under a gable. The windows are of five lights, equipped with double-chamfered mullions and label moulds, although the ends of the labels have been removed on the first bay. The segmental-headed entrance has a large lintel inscribed with "SCYTHE STONE DELPH FARM" and a three-light window above it. The right return and rear of the building have windows of two and four lights with single chamfered mullions. There is an entrance on the left return.
Inside, one of the ground floor rooms has chamfered beams with stepped stops. The original ledged and battered entrance door features chamfered battens, with three horizontal and one vertical batten on the hanging side, along with strap hinges and a latch.
