Description

The remains of an ancient arch are located at the left-hand end of the left return of the Manor House on Sefton Lane in Maghull. This late 13th century stone arch features a double chamfer and double springers on round piers. It is part of the nave arcade from the former parish church, now known as Maghull chapel. The arch was discovered after the demolition of the nave in 1755 and was re-erected at its current location in 1885. A plaque is present to commemorate this re-erection.
