Description
The stables located to the southwest of Ince Blundell Hall were built between 1800 and 1814. They are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a hipped slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of nine bays, with the central three bays projecting forward beneath a pedimented gable. It has a stone base and a top cornice.
The ground floor windows are sashed with glazing bars and have wedge lintels. The end bays contain round-headed recesses with triple keys; the north end features garage doors, while the south end has a small 20th-century extension. The central bay includes a giant round-headed recess with a triple key, an entrance framed by angle pilasters, an archivolt, and a key, along with a complete fanlight and paired doors. Above this entrance is a Diocletian window.
On the first floor, there are keyed oculi, and the end bays have stone panels. The rainwater heads are dated 1814, and there is one brick stack. A 20th-century garage is attached to the north side of the stables.
