Description
No. 15 Marine Crescent is a house that is part of a terraced row, featuring an attached verandah. It was built around 1826 to 1830 and has been altered over time. The exterior is finished in painted stucco with a slate roof and stuccoed chimneys on both sides. The house has a double-depth, double-fronted layout with a back extension, standing two storeys tall and featuring three symmetrical windows. It has a moulded gutter cornice and a wide three-bay verandah supported by turned columns, open-work brackets, and a lead-clad roof.
On the ground floor, there is a square-headed doorway with a moulded architrave, a half-glazed door, and a plain overlight. This doorway is flanked by large canted bay windows that have four-pane sashed glazing. The first floor features three four-pane sashes with moulded architraves. The interior has not been inspected. The house is adjacent to No. 14 on the right and No. 16 on the left. All the listed buildings in Marine Crescent, along with those in Adelaide Terrace, Bath Street, Beach Lawn, and Marine Terrace, contribute to a group within the Waterloo Conservation Area of Crosby.
