Description

A tunnel ventilation station, built between 1925 and 1934 as part of the Mersey Road Tunnel. Designed by Sir Basil Mott and J.A. Brodie, with Herbert J. Rowse acting as architect. The station is constructed of brick and features two framed entrances, decorative bands of brickwork at the top and bottom, and three ventilation slits. At the rear are two towers with decorative brickwork and copper coving. The original doors remain in place.
