Description

Steble Fountain is a Grade II* listed fountain located on William Brown Street, completed in 1879. It was designed by Michel Joseph Napoléon Liénard, who lived from 1810 to 1870, and was previously attributed to Paul Liénard. The fountain features a circular stone basin with a bronze centrepiece that includes four figures surrounding it. There are two basins; the lower basin is adorned with fish masks, while the upper basin is topped by a mermaid holding a shell.
