Description
This is a terrace of eight houses located at Hope Place, built in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of brick with stone dressings and have a slate roof. Each house has three storeys plus a basement, with two bays. The basement is stuccoed and features a lintel band. A sill course runs along the first floor, and a top frieze and cornice, terminating in a blocking course, are also present. All windows are sash windows with glazing bars and have wedge lintels. A ground floor window at number 16 is boarded up. Round-headed entrances with Ionic door cases lead to four-panel doors, although numbers 16 and 18 lack columns. The honeysuckle ornament on the frieze is missing from numbers 16 and 14. Brick end stacks are visible, and iron railings with ornamental heads are situated between and in front of the gardens. Panelled stone gate piers with cornice caps mark the entrances.
