Description
The entrance to Stanley Dock at the corner of Saltney Street was built around 1848 by J Hartley. It features gate piers and a gate watchman's hut made of granite rubble. The central watchman's hut is oval in shape, with a chamfered plinth, battered sides, and a Doric capital. It has a blocked window and entrance, along with gate slots. The smaller gate piers on either side are similar in design, also featuring gate slots. The gateway to the left is blocked, while the remaining gate to the right is still accessible.
