Description

The Original Dock Master's Office is a building dating from around 1846. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a hipped slate roof. The structure is single-storey and consists of two bays by one bay. On the northern side, there are two windows with brick flat arches and sash windows. There are entrances located on the north and east sides of the building. A stone cornice supported by corbels runs along the top. At the southeast corner, there is a short wall and a rusticated stone gate pier that leads to Albert Dock. The building is now part of the Merseyside Maritime Museum.
