Description
St. Vincent's Hospice is a house that has been converted into a hospice. It was built in the early 19th century, with some additions made in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a slate roof. It stands two storeys high with basements and a later attic, featuring five bays, where the central three bays project forward under a pediment. There is a basement lintel band, a ground floor sill band, and a cornice above the first floor. The windows on the building have casements, while the attic features sash windows with glazing bars. A central Doric porch with a pediment includes steps leading to the returns and a front balustrade, along with a statue. Above the porch, there is a window with an architrave, frieze, and a consoled segmental pediment. The later wings of the building are noted as having no special interest.
