Description
Windsor Building is an office and warehouse constructed around 1856, featuring ashlar-faced brick. It has four main floors, including a basement, and displays a regular four-window arrangement with distinct detailing on each floor, creating a notable mid-19th century Liverpool 'palazzo' facade. The front includes a basement and floor with a doorway to the right, accented by pilasters, an entablature, and a vermiculated plinth. The basement windows have decorative grilles and casements, while the ground floor has sashes set in deep reveals. The entrance features a panelled door with a plain overlight. The first floor is rusticated, with depressed window arches and keyblocks. The second and third floors have raised and moulded architraves with depressed and flat window arches, respectively, and there are moulded sill bands. The building is topped with a deeply overhanging console eaves cornice. It stands forward of the adjacent Bereys' Buildings and groups with both this and the former Exchange Building, known as The Albany.
