Description

The watchman's hut, built in 1844 by Jesse Hartley, is located on the north side of the pierhead at Canning Half-Tide Dock. Constructed from granite rubble, the hut has an octagonal shape with battered sides and features a corbelled roof topped with an urn finial. It includes seven stop-chamfered windows and an entrance. The hut is now part of the Merseyside Maritime Museum.
