Description
The hydraulic tower at Wapping Dock, dated 1856 and designed by Jesse Hartley, is a notable structure. It features a battered granite rubble base with a Tudor-arched opening. The upper part of the tower is octagonal and constructed of brick, accented by rusticated stone quoins. The date is incised at the top of the east face. At the top, there is a battlemented parapet set on granite machicolation. To the rear, there is a one-storey granite block that includes Tudor-arched windows and an entrance, along with a later brick gable.
