Description
This is a range of terraced townhouses at 51-97 Mount Street, built between 1836 and 1841. They were completed and shown on Decimus Burton’s plan of 1841, indicating they were built under his supervision and likely to his design. The buildings are constructed of red brick with a pitched slate roof. They are two storeys high, with a band running along the façade. Each property features a range of sash windows with glazing bars. Numbers 51 and 53 both have semi-circular fanlights above their doorways. Numbers 73 and 75 have a gabled front section which forms the central feature of the composition. These properties also contain a contemporary shopfront with six panelled Tuscan columns supporting an entablature.
