Description

This feeding shed, located in the gap between Pan Wood and Height Side Wood, was likely built in the early 19th century as an eye-catcher for out-wintered stock. Constructed from coursed sandstone rubble, it features decorative stone dressings and a stone slate roof. The building has a single cell with side bays that create a cruciform plan. In a Gothic style, the north and south gable walls each have large, 2-centred arched entrances. The south gable is more ornate, with rock-faced voussoirs around the arch and scrolled dressings, while the north gable is simpler in design. Inside, the side bays contain feeding racks.
