Description
The Old Vicarage is a house, formerly a vicarage, likely built in the early 19th century with some alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of slobbered rubble with sandstone dressings and has a slate roof. The south-west front features three bays, with a small gable above the central bay and chamfered quoins. The windows are sashed with glazing bars and have plain stone surrounds.
There is a central single-storey porch that has octagonal corner pillars topped with pinnacles and an embattled parapet. The outer doorway is chamfered with a Tudor-arched head, while the inner doorway has a plain stone surround. The house has end stacks.
The south-east garden front has two bays, also with chamfered quoins and a central small gable with a chimney. On the ground floor to the right, there is a six-light mullioned and transomed window with a chamfered stone surround and a hood. To the left, there is a canted bay window with similar details, containing a total of eight lights and an embattled parapet. Both windows are glazed with margin lights. The first-floor windows are sashed with glazing bars and plain stone surrounds.
