Description

The Old Bridge over the River Hodder, built in 1562, is a notable structure made of sandstone ashlar. It features three segmental arches, with the middle arch being wider than the others. The bridge has cutwaters that are triangular in shape and does not have a parapet. It is designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument. A portion of this bridge is located within the parish of Aighton, Bailey and Chaigley.
