Description
Quaker Root is a house dating from the mid-to-late 18th century, constructed from squared watershot sandstone and topped with a slate roof. The building has two storeys. The windows feature square mullions, with one of three lights positioned to the right of the door and one of six lights to the left. On the first floor, there are two windows with two lights each. A chimney is located on the right-hand gable.
To the left of the house is a former barn and shippon, which now forms part of the house under a continuous roof. A wide doorway with a segmental head has been blocked to create a window, along with three other doorways, with the outer two featuring plain stone surrounds. On the first floor, there are four mullioned windows with two lights each, matching those of the house.
