Description

The tunnel entrance, located approximately 180 metres west of the A682 in Gisburne Park, dates from 1880 and is constructed of sandstone. It features a segmental arch entrance flanked by octagonal turrets that have loopholes and embattled parapets supported on corbels. On the outer sides of the facade, there are two additional similar turrets. These turrets are connected by a wall that has a corbel table supporting battlements. The other entrance is referenced as item 12/58.
