Description
This is a pair of houses, formerly one, dating from the late 17th century and altered over time. They are constructed of rubble, partly rendered, and feature a slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high with two bays. The windows are mullioned, rebated, and chamfered, each consisting of three lights. The ground floor windows have hoods, although some are now partly missing. The paired doors have stone surrounds typical of the 19th century; the left-hand door is chamfered, while the right-hand door is plain, and there are external stone steps. No. 5, on the left, has a pitched hood made of two stone slates and features end chimneys. Inside, No. 6 has a moulded shouldered fireplace with a segmental soffit to the lintel and boxed main ceiling beams. No. 5 was not accessible during the survey but is reported to have exposed beams and a stone fireplace.
